Wisconsin Works (W2)

Minimize

Wisconsin Works (W-2) replaced Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) in September, 1997.  W-2 services include; Food Stamps, Health Care, Child Support, Emergency Assistance and Refugee Assistance.  W-2 is based on work participation and personal responsibility.  Under W-2, there is no entitlement to assistance, but there is help for everyone who is willing to work.  The program is available to all parents with minor children who have low assets and low income.  Each W-2 eligible participant meets with a Financial and Employment Planner (FEP), who helps the person develop a self-sufficiency plan and connects you to activities that will help you meet your employment goal.

If you think you might be eligible, call 638-6500 for information or apply at the Workforce Development Center, 1717 Taylor Avenue, Racine, WI or 209 N. Main Street, Burlington, WI.
