The Racine Campus of Gatweway Technical College proposed to pain classrooms, commons

areas and offices on campus with light colors to deflect sunlight and lessen their energy load.  They've selected paints that are most appropriate for the job to benefit the environment and minimize long term problems.  When selecting the paint, they chose the least toxic product for the job, ones that are low in volatile organic compounds, and high quality paints that enhance the environmental performance and provide long term durability.

The youth at this worksite are learning from full time staffers the proper and safe manner to prep an area for painting, and how to paint an area and properly clean up after painting.  Along with these skills, they're learning a strong work ethic.
