The youth removed invasive species in Racine's Parks and planted native trees, bushes, and flowers. Invasive plants have taken over our parks. These invasive plants include honey suckle, buckthorn, and garlic mustard seed. These plants crowed out native plants and caused a forest that is unhealthy. The youth removed these species at Island Park, Barbie Park, Riverbend, and Colonial Park also, other locations through out Racine. To replant native trees and avoid soil erosion the youth planted over 300 native trees, bushes, and flowers.
